Previous updates reported progress with the Indian Muslim Welfare Society (IMWS) to acquire 2,100 square metres of land opposite the Al-Hikmah Centre where the new Masjid, to serve the wider community, will be constructed Insha’Allah. On Friday 29th October 2020, documents were signed and the land was legally transferred to Al-Ihsan Trust at an agreed price of £175,000 (excluding fees and associated costs) paid in full to IMWS.

As we turn our attention and spiritual focus to the Holy month of Ramadhan, none of us can ignore these are unprecedented and challenging times. In a relatively short space of time our whole way of life has been transformed. We are all feeling the health threat for ourselves and the community and the Deeny impact that Covid-19 is having across the globe.
We can report progress achieved with IMWS Executive Committee to formally complete the transfer of land at the grounds of Al-Hikmah Centre to Al-Ihsan Trust, following their meeting on the 27th December 2019. As part of the discussions with IMWS a reduction of £75,000 was made against the sale price of the purchase of £250,000

Islam always advises its followers to give plenty of charities, especially during the month of Ramadhan. This is supposed to be one of the positive attributes of the believers: generosity. Plans for a new Masjid in the Al-Hikmah grounds has been conditionally approved following a long three-year process that saw it deferred twice.
The Al-Ihsan Trust received the news from Kirklees Council last month and are now looking at the next stage in furthering the building of the faith centre. An exciting opportunity has arisen for local residents to be a part of the building of a new Masjid.
The Al-Ihsan Trust was established by local residents to build a brand new, purpose built masjid serving the Track Road / Thorncliffe Road / Staincliffe areas. As you will be aware local residents established the Al-Ihsan Trust last year with the aim of establishing a purpose built Masjid in the Track Road / Thorncliffe Road / Staincliffe area.
